Andy Sexton, owner of Bike Science, knows a thing or two about bikes. He does anywhere up to 20 bike fits a week and he has fitted hundreds of age group, elite and professional triathletes and cyclists in his 10 plus years as a bike fitter.
The science of achieving the optimal position to deliver the most aerodynamic benefit while ensuring rider comfort is something that sets Andy apart from many. The knowledge to build, tweak and alter the bike to achieve this is both complex and fascinating. Not only does Andy fit bikes but he modifies off the shelf bikes with bespoke components but also builds bikes from scratch to fit a rider.
Andy answered questions from our members in this video packed with top tips, advice and plenty of things to think about including understanding gearing, how your gears work and how to get the best efficiency from your gear choice, the importance of bike fit, gauging good posture and position on your bike and improving your aerodynamics.
